1st world-wide Fokker 50 (prospective) Customer Conference: May 20, 2003
Dear (potential) Fokker 50 operator,
The aerospace industry has faced serious challenges as a result of the economic slowdown and the tragic events of September 11, 2001. These developments forced some of our valued Fokker operators to stop operating their aircraft.
As a first step in our repositioning efforts we launched the FUTURE100 program last February. The market has reacted very enthusiastically and Fokker 100's are rapidly being transferred to new operators for service re-entry.
As part of our FUTURE series of programs, we have also carefully considered our position and approach in supporting the Fokker 50 aircraft.
We are convinced that the Fokker 50 is, and will remain, the most competitive aircraft in its segment. It is state-of-the-art in terms of technology and operating economics. The available aircraft are an opportunity for operators to utilize the aircraft's economics in exploiting new markets or more efficiently serving existing ones. Furthermore, the aircraft is eminently suited to role changes including military and maritime patrol roles.
We herewith announce our FUTURE50 program to further enhance the competitiveness of the Fokker 50 aircraft. We have initiated cooperative efforts with main lessors and key vendors of the Fokker 50. Together we are more than ever before focussed on reducing the direct operating cost, optimizing the technical dispatch reliability and restoring asset value.
The outcome of these discussions has been innovative programs together with lessors and vendors, which will be attractive to existing and new operators of the aircraft. The key elements in this approach are to:
- Provide an aircraft with a high level of reliability and complete range of support
- Reduce the level of working capital required for operational start-up
- Ensure the operator has predictable operational costs
- Ensure costs of operation are at an operator specific competitive level
In order to present these programs to you, learn about your requirements and mutually define the steps ahead, we herewith invite you to attend the first worldwide Fokker 50 conference, which will be held on May 20, 2003 in Hotel the Nachtegaal in Lisse, 20 minutes from Schiphol Airport.
Key executives of existing and new Fokker 50 operators, Pratt & Whitney Canada, key vendors, lessors and ourselves will share with you their views and issues on the Fokker 50's competitiveness. Of course, the innovative and renewed customized support programs and total care concepts will be presented in detail.
We are looking forward to meet you. Please be so kind to let us know if you will be able to attend. You can do so by returning the attached form before 10th of May. After this date, we cannot ensure the availability of hotel accommodations.
Yours sincerely,
Erik Goedhart
Vice President Marketing & Sales
