Fokker Services launches Future100

Hoogerheide - 6 February 2003

Today, during the first worldwide Fokker 100 (prospective) customer conference, Fokker Services launched the FUTURE100 program.

This program is aimed at re-marketing the Fokker 100's which are currently available for lease or sale. In the FUTURE100 program, Fokker Services and Rolls-Royce created a marketing alliance in which they will jointly approach and assist operators in business cases for start-up operators or for fleet expansion of current operators of the Fokker 100 aircraft.

At the same time, key vendors such as ABSC, Honeywell, Rockwell Collins and Messier Dowty announced to become partners in the FUTURE100 program. Lessors have been invited to join as well.

The result of these efforts is that Fokker Services can offer a competitive customised support package based on a fixed fee per flight hour. The competitive position of the Fokker 100 in its segment has been strengthened. The partner companies will guarantee service, spare parts and support for Fokker 100's well into the next decade.

"Fokker 100's have proven to be -and still are- reliable, economically very competitive and can easily be included in any fleet", remarked Erik Goedhart, Fokker Services Vice President Marketing & Sales. The alliance with Rolls-Royce and partnership with major vendors such as ABSC, Honeywell, Rockwell Collins and Messier Dowty means that the aircraft, especially brakes, engines and avionics systems, will stay on the cutting edge. "Operators can thus confidently opt for the Fokker 100 aircraft for many more years of sustained competitive operations, backed by some of the world's leading corporations in the aviation industry", he added.

With airline operators looking to rationalize costs, the economic arguments for adding Fokker 100s to a fleet or keeping these in service for a prolonged period are very strong. Erik Goedhart: "Acquisition costs are low and operational costs are very competitive with comparable aircraft. Major Fokker100 lessors are therefor able to offer advantageous leasing programs, turning the Fokker 100 into one of the most competitive aircraft in its market segment."
